Every individual benefit from gymnastics. The areas listed below are examples of the actual benefits from gymnastics activities. Many of the benefits of gymnastics are not only related to just learning gymnastics skills, but more importantly the developmental areas that will help your child become a better student and young adult. Gymnastics programs are not solely about producing gymnasts, there are more important factors to consider. ALL children, regardless of ability, should stay in gymnastics for 3 - 5 years, if not longer, to get the full benefit of what gymnastics teaches.
- Self Confidence
Performing skills on the gymnastics apparatus help children gain confidence in their own abilities with each step that they take. This improved self-confidence benefits other areas, including school-life and life as a whole. Gymnastics help children move from a world of “I Can’t” to “I Can”!
Gymnastics instruction helps develop better coordination and motor skills. For young children, a great deal of their self-confidence comes from how coordinated they are because their “world” is more physical than mental.

Gymnastics gives little kids a chance to learn about social skills like listening and following instructions, taking turns, being quiet, respecting others, etc. Building good social skills will stand their future in good stead.
We have rules in gymnastics classes and coaches treat these rules very importantly, as our classes are conducted in a controlled environment. Coaches insist on good behaviour and respect during class. Thus, instilling discipline and self-control in the children.

Gymnastics provide children with constant “attainable” challenges and goals. To face a challenge, maybe with a little fear, and then to successfully accomplish it, is a wonderful motivator and confidence builder for all children.
- Determination & Focus
Some gymnastics skills are hard to master so children learn determination and focus in continuing to work hard, even when things are tough. This resilience built is essential for life. The focus that is trained will also help stimulate neurological pathways and promote reading readiness. Children will have longer attention spans, increased communication skills, and enhanced problem solving skills.
- Fitness & Strength Development
Fitness is key to staying healthy. Gymnastics classes are full of activities that will keep children fit and healthy. Moving and lifting their own body weight helps build overall body strength. Physical fitness in children will also help reduce the risk of developing asthma during adolescence. In general, active children will grow up to be active, healthy and positive adults.
